A quite sweet little restaurant with a the best of a small town feel.

We made a stop at the Berkshires on our way to upstate New York and near Naumkeag there is this little quaint town with a small alleyway of shops and eateries among which is this little restaurant.

The name Once Upon A Table really captures all the essence of its pleasant atmosphere, with a touch of almost fairy tale neatness and comfort. Our waiter was great, he was quite friendly and humorous. The owner was chatting with another table. Love this about these intimate little towns. I ordered the Alaskan Salmon burger, something not often found on menus. Boyfriend ordered the chicken sandwich. Our food came blazing fast, the salmon burger came on an English muffin, the buns are slightly crunchy on the outside and a porous softness otherwise. The salmon patty was light and has plenty flavorful, with plenty of guacamole on top, and the veggies are a fresh complement.

We happened upon this great little eatery on a recent visit. We were seated in a wonderfully sunny corner. I had the turkey sandwich with cranberry aioli on sourdough. Fresh sliced turkey and the most wonderful bread perfectly toasted. My boyfriend had the chicken gorgonzola on a focaccia roll and said it was wonderful. Perfect serving size for a lunch.

Past the sign for Yankee Candle, and down the alleyway -- that's where you'll find Once Upon a Table. A small restaurant, but an excellent one. It was quaint, cozy and quiet! Our server was Kari and she did an excellent job. We walked in with another couple, that we did not know, and we had tables near each other, but not together..We shared a bottle of Reisling. My husband had the Escargot pot pie -- quite a different presentation, he loved it. I had the Tomato veggie soup. Tomato based and filled with onions, carrots, celery, I was sorry I only got a cup. We shared a Caesar salad, and almost couldn't finish it all. I ordered the Rack of lamb, and my gosh -- it was melt in my mouth perfect. The seasonings were spot on. Served with mashed potatoes and veggie. Hubby had the Pork special, and he thoroughly enjoyed that as well. We both ate only half, saved room for dessert! Profiteroles for Gene, with vanilla and chocolate chocolate chip house made gelato, covered with a deep dark chocolate sauce. I had a dish of the vanilla and special of the evening, Caramel. We plan to take our friends back to this gem in a few weeks. Hope Kari is working that evening!

This restaurant has a select number of tables so it is never too crowded or loud. The waitress was informed and friendly.

The food was of good portion and delicious. I had the Penne mac and cheese and my wife had the salmon. Both of us were both pleased and satisfied (in both spirit and belly).

“As good as the reviews say”

Small but cosy restaurant with friendy and efficient service and excellent food. We had the pork special of the night and it was delicious and nicely presented. I definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant..

Small intimate place. You do feel that you are dining at someones home. A must visit in Stockbridge.
